Monte Scherbelino

Birkenkopf // 70197 Stuttgart // Website

The Birkenkopf evolved by filling up more than 15.000 cubic meters of rubble from the city which was 45 per cent destroyed in World War II. Shards of glass in the rubble reflected the sunlight, which was also clearly visible in the city, which is why the mountain was given the name "Monte Scherbelino". Around the summit cross there are remains of facades of destroyed buildings. With 511 m, the Birkenkopf is the highest point in the inner city area and offers a fantastic view over Stuttgart!
